Asking a Favor?!

Do you run? Are you wanting to get into running? Will you run with me? Please? I need running partners!

First Half Marathon: Seattle, November 2011
Second Half Marathon: Sauvie Island, July 2013
Third Half Marathon: Bald Peak, November 2013

By far my hardest half marathon so far was this last one running Bald Peak. Holy smokes... The race was either uphill or downhill. No in-between. Hardly any flat running at all. My knee was destroyed by the end of it, but also I think everyone racing that day felt the run was a big joke. I do not recommend this run for people out there looking for a half marathon. I definitely don't regret having run it, but I do not believe I will be running it in the future. Researching for my next half, let me know if you have any suggestions, or want to run with me! I need running Buddies!!!

Sure I'm all smiles because this was my BEFORE picture...

I have never been so excited to see a Finish Line before.

My Biggest Fans Came Out to Support Me! Love Mom and Dad

"Holy cow that was the hardest run of my life."

Mom: "Honey, smile." Me: "Mom I might puke..."

The Soon to be Mrs. Kellar

Last night I got to celebrate my friend Kara at her Bridal Shower. She is such a precious Bride-to-be. I met Kara when we were 16 and going into our Junior Year in high school. We met at Young Life camp (Malibu: Canada) when we served on Work Crew together! She was an instant friend, and a friend that I am so glad I still have. This woman is dear to my heart because she is such an inspiration in the way she loves others, and in the way she offers pure joy. You can hear the joy she stores merely by her laughter. We have coffee dates when we can, and I love to hear about the way she cares for her Young Life girls. Kara is a delight to have in my life, and I am so excited to share in this upcoming wedding! Will is one lucky man!

A Kindred Spirit

Last weekend my friend's and I got to celebrate our good friend Georgia. She's getting married December 7th, and I cannot wait!! It was so fun seeing her light up as we played games and helped make her new house with Keith a home. Every dish, every towel getting Georgia closer and closer to her big day! I love the heart of this woman, and have been so deeply and richly blessed by her wisdom and strength as our friendship has grown the past two years. A true kindred spirit I would say. I can't help it, I love everything bridal, and everything wedding and am thrilled to be apart of this lady's Wedding. Just wait for Bachelorette Pictures to come!

I Went Blonde Over the Weekend!

Last week I was so excited to relax and spend time with friends. My dear friend Georgia had her Bridal Shower (pictures to come) and then I went straight to get my hair done. It turned out a little blonder than expected, but I really like it! I just think it will take some time getting used to, but it really is fun to change things up! I went to Anastasia Salon in Multnomah Village and Helena was the one who did my hair. She is so sweet and great at what she does!! I can give you her info if you are interested, just message me about it. But other than getting my hair done and Georgia's Bridal Shower, I saw Thor with friends and I spent time with my dear friend Lindsey. Sunday went to church in the morning and got a bunch of errands done. It was a very refreshing and relaxing weekend spent with friends that I am so very appreciative of.

The One Where We Drove to Albany on a Weeknight...

Last week my crew decided to relive the glory days and take a trip to Albany. Experiencing Eagles again was so worth the drive and the late night on a Thursday. So many good memories from my Oregon State days, so many nights of dancing and laughter. Hard to believe it had been so long since I had been there. Not much was different, and it wouldn't have mattered anyways when I was surrounded by my best friends tearing up the floor with me.

My Gangster Outfit

(Jacket: H&M; Tank: H&M; Leggings: Nike; Skyhighs: Nike; Necklace: Charming Charlies)

Evan said this was my gangster outfit when he picked me up on Sunday. Not sure if I quite agree with that or not, but I love my Nike Dunk Sky Hi's, that's for sure. Also, I'm getting my hair done this coming Saturday! It's the small things in life, but I am so excited! I'm not going to make any drastic changes, but adding a bit more blonde and getting a trim. Post hair appointment pictures will be up on the blog next week.

K please see the picture below to find out if my brother and sister in law are having a boy or girl!!

Baby BOY!!! One more perfect little Moon Man to add to our precious family. I guess it will be up to me to have the baby girls. Ben had the first baby, so maybe I get to have the first girl? Seems fair. ;)

The One Where I Sold My Car and Got a New One

And when I say I sold my car I definitely mean sold for parts... Man, never thought I'd see the day that I would have to part from Roxy. When my dad sent me the picture of her being towed away I seriously wanted to cry. Who knew you could get so attached to a car? I do miss her. Mostly I will miss driving a stick shift. I learned to drive on a manual car, and I guess automatics just seem boring. A positive though: Driving to work in the morning and sipping coffee, not having to constantly change hands to shift. That and it makes sitting in traffic a little less awful and makes multi-tasking a lot easier. Otherwise I will forever miss the adolescence of shifting gears. It's like a turning of continual pages as I enter into fresh chapters as an adult. Too deep? Well that's the new season I'm in. The mere act of going to a credit union to take out a loan for my car was a shock to my "Am I really a grown up?..." way of thinking. I'm adult enough that they cheered for my great credit score and granted me access to thousands of dollars. Holy crap, when did I get this old? Is anyone else thinking that? Well anyways... the funniest ending to this story is that my parents bought a Honda for my mom, and they then sold me my mom's car. AKA, the same exact car Roxy was, same color, just 4 doors and an automatic. So it's as if a piece of her still remains. Fortunate, blessed and glad the hunt is over!

See EXACTLY like my old one...

Sweet Whispers

(Sweater; Charming Charlies, Tank top; H&M, Boots; Target, Necklace; Charlotte Russe)

As my alarm went off yesterday morning I looked out the window as usual to try and give my brain clarity on the basics. Where am I? In my bed, in my Multnomah Village house. What time is it? 5:45 am. What day is it? Monday morning. What is my schedule like today? Work, pick up our Comcast cable box, dinner at mom and dads, study for your license. After the basics are registered, I then play a game with myself. How many minutes do I have to lay here in the warmth of my blankets before I need to get up and turn the coffee pot on? And why don't I ever set my coffee pot on a schedule to automatically turn on when I wake up? Mental note: Figure out how to set my coffee pot on automatic. I finally crawled out of bed, put my slippers on and half asleep I wandered into the kitchen. Once the coffee is turned on I then make my way into the family room where I set up my "Jesus Corner." The house is quiet as my roommates lay asleep in their beds. I turn the lights on, open the curtains and get my blankets all situated so I can cuddle up with a good book. My Bible. As I sat yesterday morning with a warm mug in my hand, I spent quiet time with Jesus. I sat and prayed. I listened and asked that not only would He be near to me, but that he would be tangible. I want to share with you what I experienced. I experienced the nearness of the Lord like never before. I felt his arms wrapped around me sitting with me in my Jesus Corner. I felt loved, I felt safe, I felt pure joy and peace. I heard sweet whispers of " I am with you." No matter what, He is with me, and He is for me. My quiet time with the Lord is what I look forward to when I go to bed at night knowing that is the first thing I will do when I wake up. It's the time in the morning that I never skip, or put off. I NEED Jesus more than I need food throughout my day. I asked for dependence upon Him, and I got exactly that. It's the hard things in life, the moments of discomfort that bring us closer to Him. Do you know this kind of desperate need? Maybe you are experiencing it now as you read this, but have never known the satisfaction of Jesus Christ. I pray you find the quench to your thirst in the one who brought us out of death and into life. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you, and He will. I am speaking from experience, as I heard the sweet whispers yesterday in my Jesus Corner.

Love and Sweet Whispers
