The Red Lipstick You Have Been Searching For

SHADE: RUBY WOO by MAC $16.00 for the lipstick and $16.00 for the lip liner

I remember when I was little, I would watch my mom put her lipstick on before we would leave the house. I also remember thinking that I would never grow up to wear lipstick. It was messy and unnecessary and it was for old people. Fast forward 15ish years and it has become my very favorite accessory. The perfect way to make your eyes pop and to feel lovely and sexy all at the same time.
I especially love wearing little eye makeup (pictured above) such as just mascara and then adding a bold lip. Girls with blue eyes: Red lipstick will only make your eyes stand out more!

For years, (I promise I'm not being melodramatic) I have searched for the perfect shade of red. I have tried so many different kinds, and brands and was let down time and time again until... RUBY WOO!! The perfect color and it is a matte lip. This just means that you can wear it as is, or you can add a shine to it to dress it up if you want. I got the pencil too just so I could outline my top lip since it is less defined than my bottom. With such a stated color, using a lip liner simply helps with definition. I recommend it, but it is of course not 100% necessary.

MORAL OF THE STORY PEOPLE: You need to stop buying any other kind of red lipstick, until you at least give Ruby Woo a chance. It is such a sophisticated red. Makes me feel like I'm straight out of the 1920's and should be walking around in a pencil skirt with soft curls off my face and a cigarette in my hand.... only kidding about the cigarette mom...

Love sharing products I love, so I hope you give this lipstick a shot and let me know what you think!

Love and RUBY WOO, I'm so glad we were introduced

Latest Favorite Fashion Trend

Shirt: Nordstrom; Jeans: J-Brand Nordstrom Rack; Boots: Target

Not even 100% sure what you call this look, an off the shoulder blouse maybe? Well anyways, I love it! I'm even going to go as far to say that if you wanted to show a little midriff (which I'm not unless I raise my arms) it's ok in my book! You can wear this shirt with jeans, a fitted skirt, or shorts. It's just a fun flirty look that I even recently wore on a date :) I wore flat boots to dress it down, but wear it with heels and easily dress it up! I also didn't go crazy with accessories because I was showing enough skin that it didn't need anymore "va-va-voom," if you know what I mean. But what a perfect spring/summer go-to!!

I also wanted to mention that underneath the shirt because it is a little see through, I am wearing a bandeau top in white also from Nordstrom. If you do not have a bandeau top, it is time my friend! I wear mine all the time under looser fitting tops or with dresses that have a peek-a-boo back to cover my bra.

Final touch to the look: Ruby Woo Lipstick by MAC. MY NEW OBSESSION!! I will post about that next week I promise, because you need it. Ok, maybe not need, but you will never be able to say I never did anything for you again. It is the most perfect shade of red and I only have to reapply every 3 hours or so. It is long lasting.

K Happy Friday and I hope you all get to enjoy the sunshine this weekend!! Let me know what fun things you have planned!!

Trying Something New

Bye- Bye Donuts :(

Guys I am trying something new. I am extending myself in a whole new way. I am not alone, as my sister-in-law Summer and my cousin Leah are doing this with me! So mostly I am writing this for the accountability, and for any encouragement you might offer?!

I am going to be participating in a program called "Whole 30."

To break it down for you, starting today and for the next 29 days I am only allowed to eat meat, fish, vegetables, fruit and plenty of good fats i.e almonds and avocados. So bye-bye sugar, alcohol, grains of any kind and dairy... :/ wait am I sure about this?!

Has anyone else done this before? Any tips, or suggestions? Any recipes to share?

I am excited to see how I will do with this and how it will help me! Supposedly it resets your cravings, and helps with digestion, gives you increased energy not to mention weight loss. Curious to see also how this will affect my training for my half marathon.

My goal is to not only take before and after pictures, but to also document how this affects my energy, and overall health. I will let you know how I feel along the way, there may be some whining from time to time, but I really want to stick to this!! So please any encouragement you may have, especially those of you who have done this before it is much appreciated!

So here is to health and wellness and official accountability by posting this!

Love and Whole 30...BRING IT!!

He Keeps Me Grounded

Picture from my weekend away in Bend this last weekend, what a nice weekend away to see family and to witness my good friend Dan's wedding.

Do you ever get caught up in the busy-ness of life like I do? Work, fitness, health, friends, family, weddings, birthday parties, ministry, errands, keeping the house tidy, money management, dating. The list goes on! Life doesn't seem to slow down as you get older, it seems to magically speed up. Doesn't seem fair if you ask me. I finally completed school, and now I'm really living!! Right?! Or is that true? I should be. But if I'm being honest with you I get so lost in my schedule. It's as if I become a slave to my planner. Adrift in my OCD need for structure I sometimes forget to stay grounded with the one I need the most in my life. I get so lost in my routine of running in the morning or getting extra sleep that I find I'm rushing out the door before checking in with the one who reminds me of my center.

I've found that for me, sometimes my most precious moments with the Lord aren't planned, and they aren't even necessarily when I've buried my head in scripture. Rather it is simply putting worship music on in my bathroom as I put makeup on and do my hair. It's in these small moments that make such a large impact on the rest of my day. A moment to worship and thank the Creator for the blessings in my life. To thank him for the hard things too that have gotten me to where I am with him today. This beautiful relationship where I am reminded of my foundation. The truest thing about me is that I am created by God our Father, and above all else this is where I find my confidence and my joy!

I was reminded of that this morning, as worshipful tears filled my eyes and I was able to just stop for a moment and lift my hands to the one who grounds me. Just these sweet stolen moments where I can whisper to my God how in love I am with him, and how thankful I am for his presence in my life. That I do NOT take that for granted.

Do you have stolen moments like me? Have you ever thought about the ways in which you connect best with the Lord? I know without a doubt that music and worship is when I am most filled with his Spirit. Praying that those who may read this today are encouraged to have "check-in" moments with the one who wants to remind you just how loved you are. So check in with him, he's anxiously waiting!

Currently

All I can think about as of late: California Vacation. I don't need a full week. Just a solid weekend of laying on the sand and jumping in the ocean. Just need a little rejuvenation, just a quick Vitamin D pick-me-up. Craving a walk around town in a dress and my Ray-Bans. Maybe a fun pedicure to wear with wedges. Needing a run on the boardwalk with the sun on my face. Stroll the shoreline with an iced coffee in my hand. Well hopefully soon anyways :)

For now, I am looking forward to this weekend away in Bend/Sisters with my mama and to witness a friend's wedding. It will be nice to be away for a weekend.

What do you all have planned for the weekend ahead?!?!

Love and Can I be on the Beach Pweeeeeese?!?!

This One's for you Max on your Birthday

Max,

We weren't entirely sure how we could love a baby anymore than we loved Malachi. As if we were so infatuated with Malachi, what would loving another baby be like? But God is so good that he brought you to us all and you are so different than your older brother. We can already tell that you are so independent and you are just a happy-go-lucky baby. You are always smiling at me when I look over at you, and I love when you walk up to me and burry your head in my legs meaning you want to be held. Your beautiful baby blue eyes get so tiny when you smile, and you make people want to smile right back. I love your sweet giggle and your curiosity. Only one year in, and I can't imagine life without you.

Baby boy I thank Jesus for you and I pray for the life you have ahead of you. You have such wonderful parents who are there to guide you but just know how very loved you are by Jesus too. Thank you for being such a special part of our family we all love you very much and we all love watching you grow. My prayer for you is that you will be a strong God fearing man who has a heart like David. May you always be searching for God's will in your life, and may you always look to him for direction.

Happy Birthday Baby, you are so very loved.

All of my Love to You
