Creative Date Night Ideas!

Just sitting in the cockpit no big deal
Huge shout out to Bryan (CJ's good family friend) for being our pilot for the day!
Because the candid ones are fun and he puts up with me when the wind blows my hair in my face
Well let me tell you my last weekend felt a little like an episode of "The Bachelor", being taken to the airport to go flying! I went to Corvallis on Friday to visit CJ and we both knew we wanted to do something fun while we had time together. CJ temporarily lives in Corvallis while he does a clinical rotation for Physical Therapy to complete his Doctorate program. So really we only get to see each other on the weekends. I asked him if we could do something outside the box for an adventure and on Saturday morning he surprised me by driving us to the Corvallis airport (I didn't even know Corvallis had an airport and I lived there for 4 years...!). This girl who not even 3 years ago was afraid of flying on large aircrafts was now all of a sudden sitting inside the tiniest airplane I have ever seen up close. What an exhilarating feeling it is to do something outside of your comfort zone like that with someone you care about. It really is an incredible way to bond with them! You should try it. And with Valentines Day approaching soon I thought it only fitting to come up with a few outside the box date ideas for you to try!

1) Go indoor skydiving at iFly (Not saying I would do this one... but you should! Haha ;)
2) Run a half marathon with your significant other
3) Go Snow Shoeing together at Mt. Hood
4) Surprise them with Concert Tickets to their favorite band
5) Head to the beach to make a bonfire on the sand and roast marshmallows
6) Rent an amazing car you have always wanted to drive and take your significant other to a fancy restaurant like Portland City Grill! And actually I just found out about this amazing company called Turo! They offer car rentals on any kind of car, truck, SUV and they even have luxury cars. You enter in your location and the owner of the car will even deliver the car to you. How cool would it be to get dressed up and take a lamborghini to dinner?! I would be so excited! The website makes it so easy to look up the kind of vehicle you are wanting. Definitely worth checking out to do something a little different this Valentines Day, and here is a link to their website!

Those are just a few off the cuff ideas of some fun dates that take slightly more effort but have a much bigger pay off! It's fun to get adventurous and do things outside your comfort zone. It teaches you to grow and trust and experience things you never have before! Worth it in my opinion.

The Look that has been Trending

Really into the choker collar sweater look
Inspo
How I wore it. Sweater: Express; Jeans: J-Brand; Boots: Fergie

I bought this baby pink sweater from Express on my birthday and have been waiting to wear it! One of those outfits you visualize in your mind and when it all comes together as you pictured you get excited! Errr... is that just me?? It might be. Oh well. I am unapologetically a fan of fashion. It's considered an art form right?! Well this was an outfit I was looking forward to wearing for a little while and figured a Friday evening on the town would be perfect!

I spent the weekend in Corvallis, my second home :) Gosh I love that city and all of it's charm. It was a lovely weekend, the kind of weekend you don't like coming back home from. The kind where you want to stay in that dream for a little bit longer. But Mondays seem to be inevitable and I am powerless to stop them. I hope you all had wonderful weekends as well, and wish you a great work week!

What I Have Been Living in Lately

Body Suit from Target; Jeans: Express Legging/Jeans (the most comfortable!) Boots: Old pair I can't even remember where I got them from, Necklace from Charming Charlies
I was really trying to get a photo that showed the velour and sweetheart shape of my body suit, but it wasn't turning out in the pictures very well
This shows the detailing a little better!
Can we talk for two quick seconds about how much I am over this snow/freezing rain in Portland? Like really really over it. I don't do so well being confined to the indoors. I wanted to run errands, and I had to cancel my Birthday Party! What is the deal this year? Just feeling quite over it. And now that I expressed my frustration... I digress.

I have been all about the body suit this season! I think I got 3 or 4 bodysuits for Christmas that I luuuurrvvvveeee. Just me trying even more to be like Khloe K. I can't help it, I just love her. Anyone else buying body suits on repeat? Every store I go to, I am always drawn to them. This one from Target though is my favorite. The velour texture and sweetheart cut out with long sleeves makes it so feminine. So if you see me out and about, most likely this is what I will be wearing.

Well since I am confined to my bedroom most of today, I think I will make use of the time and organize my makeup drawer and go through my closet to make a donation pile.

My Birthday/New Year's Dress and Accessories

Dress: H&M, Shoes: DSW  Franco Sarto (The most comfortable brand of heels), Headband (my Princess crown), and bracelet: Charming Charlies

Pretty cousin pants Leah

Well to say I felt like a Princess on my birthday would be an understatement. Between having family in from out of town and celebrating Friday and Saturday I think this was one of my favorite birthdays of all time! I had such a nice day shopping with my mom and our dear family friend Cathy. I picked up a few accessories for my dress, and a few things from Express and Target. Then from shopping went to get my makeup done for the evening and off to meet my crew for NYE downtown! My cousin Leah and I had fun taking some photos and then met everyone for dancing and celebrating the New Year. It was such a fun weekend, I hope you all had a wonderful New Years Eve and New Years weekend too!

H2C

Laughed alot in 2016 with these goofballs
My love affair with Paris. This city will always have a piece of my heart.
Celebrated the New Year with a few of my faves and other's not pictured :)

Goals from last year for 2016:

-Actually go to Europe!! (London, Paris and Italy- July/ August!)
-Move into Management in my Industry (February-Current)
-Run a Half Marathon I have never run before (I didn't run a half marathon this year but I did run Hood to Coast for the first time which has been a bucket list item for a few years now!)
-Create more Tutorials for my Blog (I actually decided I wasn't super fond of the video tutorials. Friends ask me often how I curl my hair so I might still try to do a tutorial of that which might be fun. I need to play around more with my cameras video option before I do that)
-Continue to Incorporate Fashion in my Blog (The majority of my blog posts were focused around fashion and coincidentally they were my most viewed blogs next to any workout related blogs)
-Learn how to use my new camera and maybe take a photography class? (I did learn some things about my camera but I will admit I still don't know all of the functions of my camera)
-Do something I have never done before that is really out of my comfort zone (The easy answer would be to say flying to Europe. I have never been a huge fan of flying and I was able to overcome an 11 hour flight from Germany to Portland! I also rode a Vespa through the streets of ROME! No traffic laws, and zero consideration for American girls who don't know what they are doing or where they are going. The latter probably takes the cake)
-Go to a Mariners Game (Fail, I went to a few Blazer games and a Hockey game, but no Baseball games)
-To learn even more what it means to Follow Jesus (This year has been such a whirlwind, and with that comes different prayers and different ways I have learned to trust in the Lord)
-Stick with one Church and call it Home (I have more consistently been going to Bridgetown, but still not as consistently as I would like)

Goals for 2017:

- I would really like to run Hood to Coast again this year if my team from last year invites me back. With that goal I would like to avoid heat exhaustion this time around, because that was no joke!

- Go to Nashville, TN in the Spring!

- Visit Cayly in Orange County

- Begin planning my next international trip- Preferably to Spain! Most likely for 2018

- Begin applying for Community Manager positions within my company

- I want to purchase my own website and move my blog to that space

- Incorporate more work out related posts for my Blog

- I would love to collaborate more with photographers and do more fashion posts on my Blog

- Possibly start the process of buying a condo. It might be just to find renters to make side income.  Not sure yet.

Overall I want to Travel. That is what I have found a passion of mine to be. So I think a good goal moving forward would be to go somewhere new every year. How amazing would that be?! I found this year that traveling is the most exhilarating thing I have done so far in my 27 years. I wish I could have found that out sooner, but now that I know I don't want to stop planning to see new places and experience new cultures. I need travel partners, so please let me know if you too are looking for a travel friend!

2016 was made out in the media as one of the worst years ever. I can't say I agree considering all of the "firsts" I got to experience. Moved into management, bought my first brand new Jeep, Ran Hood to Coast, and went to Europe! What a great year it was! Thankful for the memories made, the relationships created and the experiences I will never forget. Let's see what 2017 holds!

Happy New Year to you all, may your hearts continue to be thankful for all you have and may this new year bring many blessings!

Love and Cheers!
